OnePlus 5 now available at 10 percent discount for students

OnePlus has now launched a new program aimed at students in various countries around the world.

With the launch, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will now allow students to avail 10 percent off on any order they place via the official OnePlus website when buying the newly launched handset, or accessories, or both.

The company has announced the news in its official blog post and has also detailed the instructions on how the program works. "Through 3 short assignments, we will test your ability to enjoy exclusive student offers and examine your eligibility for our program. Completing this exam will give students a can't-miss opportunity to acquire the OnePlus 5 at low rate exclusive to students," the company said.

Assignment 1: You need to show you're a student. Basically, you will have to log in to Student Beans to verify your account and gain access to the Student Program.

Assignment 2: Now that you're an official member of the Student Program, it's time to claim your coupon worth 10 percent off any order. Just hit the button to claim your coupon.

Once redeemed, your coupon will be valid for a month. However, you will be able to claim a new coupon in every following year. You're able to use your coupon to receive 10 percent off your next order during this month, although there is a limit of one OnePlus 5 per student.

Assignment 3: Once your order is ready you need to activate your 10 percent student discount at checkout. Remember to use your coupon within a month.

Besides with this new program, a student can purchase a brand new OnePlus 5 for $47.90 (approx Rs. 3,000) off on the 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage space which is retailing at $479, or for $53.90 (approx Rs. 3,400) off on the 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage space (original price stands at $539). However, the discount is limited to one OnePlus 5 per student. When it comes to accessories it seems that there is no limit as long as you buy everything in a single order.

As of now, this promotion is available only in the following countries: US, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
