OnePlus 5T out of stock in North America; OnePlus 6 on the way
It seems like the Chinese manufacturer has no intention to restock the OnePlus 5T.
OnePlus 6 is not expected to launch before June, but the rumor mill has already started churning out details about the smartphone. This doesn't mean that OnePlus's current flagship OnePlus 5T is out of demand. Even four months after the launch, it remains to be a popular choice among smartphone users. The bad news is, the smartphone is now out of stock in North America.
Engadget reports that the company has confirmed that it has sold every unit of OnePlus 5T it made for the North American market. Kyle Kiang, OnePlus's head of global marketing and general manager of North America, said that the stock outage is caused by stronger-than-expected demand. Also, it seems like the Chinese manufacturer has no intention to restock the smartphone.
Well, people in North America has no option but to wait for OnePlus's next flagship. Do note that, the OnePlus 5T was only on the market in this continent for about four months. This clearly indicates the smartphone has done really well in terms of sales.
As mentioned, the OnePlus 6 will arrive sometime in late Q2, possibly in June. Going by recent reports, the smartphone will sport a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2,280×1,080 pixels. Under its hood, the handset is likely to make use of an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.
The OnePlus 6 is further said to pack 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. However, a higher variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB RAM is also likely in the making. In terms of optics, the device is believed to feature a dual rear camera setup with 16MP and 20MP sensors.
In addition, the upcoming flagship will reportedly will run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and draw the power from a 3,450mAh battery along with the company's proprietary Dash Charging feature.
As far as pricing is concerned, the OnePlus 6 could cost around $749 (approximately Rs. 48,850). If the rumors pan out, it will be the most expensive OnePlus phone ever.
