OnePlus 5T could be in the making, tips tweet made by OnePlus CEO

Does the OnePlus 5T really exist?

Since the past few days, there is a confusion regarding the existence of the OnePlus 5T, the incremental upgrade to the flagship model - OnePlus 5. In an earlier report, it was tipped that the company will not launch the OnePlus 5T but the next-generation flagship, the OnePlus 6 early next year.

OnePlus 5T could be in the making, tips tweet made by OnePlus CEO

Back in the last week, we came across several reports tipping that the OnePlus 5 has gone out of stock in most countries including the U.S. This paved way for speculations that the company might be in plans to launch its successor - the OnePlus 5T. However, the company chose to be a mute spectator and did not give out any clues about the development.

If the company is following the last year's trend, the OnePlus 5 that was launched in June has to get its sequel in the coming weeks. While many OnePlus fans and industry watchers were in this assumption, a poster showed up online and was believed to be an invitation for an event slated to happen on November 5. Within a few hours of the leak, it was revealed that this is a fake invite and that OnePlus isn't planning to host an event on November 5.

Now, in a new twist, OnePlus' CEO Carl Pei has taken to Twitter to reveal something about the OnePlus 5's success. It looks like the tweet posted by him reading "Guess the OnePlus 5 was more popular than we thought" is an indication that the device will get a successor pretty soon. It tips that the company might intentionally pull out the OnePlus 5 from the market.

Talking about the upcoming smartphone from OnePlus, the device is speculated to be dubbed OnePlus 5T. The recent leaks suggest that this smartphone will arrive with a near bezel-less display of 6-inches with an aspect ratio of 18:9 as in the flagship smartphones those were launched this year. Apart from this, the alleged OnePlus 5 successor is believed to feature similar specifications as the existing model. However, we are yet to get an official confirmation regarding the existence of the next-generation model.
