OnePlus Teases New Concept Phone for MWC 2023

OnePlus unveiled a slew of new devices at its Cloud 11 event yesterday. The highlight of the show was the much-anticipated OnePlus 11, followed by the launches of the OnePlus Pad, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, the OnePlus 11R, the OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro, and the all-new OnePlus Featuring Keyboard 81 Pro. During the event, the Chinese firm also teased a concept smartphone that it plans to unveil at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 convention.
Meet the OnePlus 11 Concept
The OnePlus 11 Concept, OnePlus' next-generation concept smartphone, will be unveiled at MWC 2023. The company has promised the smartphone to come with a brand-new design and innovative technology. The Mobile World Congress, which will take place towards the end of February, is a showcase for cutting-edge technology and innovations in the mobile industry. So, such an event seems ideal for OnePlus to introduce its new concept smartphone.
OnePlus is no stranger to concept smartphones. The company unveiled its Concept One smartphone back in January 2020, which featured color-shifting glass technology. This technology uses an electrochromic glass panel on the phone's camera which can quickly transition from solid black to fully clear, giving it an "invisible camera" feel.
The OnePlus 8T Concept was another of OnePlus' smartphone innovations that featured a color-changing back panel. OnePlus called the panel "Electronic Color, Material, and Finish", or ECMF for short.
Don't Expect OnePlus 11 Concept on Store Shelves
Unfortunately, none of the aforementioned devices has made it to the shelves as yet. So, it's unlikely that OnePlus would do so with the new OnePlus 11 Concept phone. However, what does come across from OnePlus' eagerness with these smartphone showcases is that the brand wants to show the world how far it has come and that it could make use of these technologies in the future.
OnePlus Is Expanding Everywhere
OnePlus is undoubtedly breaking new ground with its first tablet and the all new mechanical keyboard. The OnePlus Pad will allow the firm to compete with top guns in the tablet market. However, the same cannot be said of its foray into mechanical keyboards. The company sees stiff competition from established players such as Keychron, and it will be interesting to see how the company positions itself to be able to gain a foothold in this niche market as well.
