OnePlus Announces Its First-Ever Tablet: Is OnePlus Pad A Rebranded Oppo Pad 2?

Is The OnePlus Pad A Rebranded Oppo Pad 2?

Along with its OnePlus 11 series of smartphones, OnePlus also announced the OnePlus Pad, its first ever tablet. The premium large-screen portable computer, with an all-metal chassis, and a detachable keyboard packs some impressive hardware including a 144Hz 2.8K display, MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, 12GB RAM, and much more. Let's take a look at all the information we have about the OnePlus Pad, and whether this tablet could be a rebranded Oppo Pad 2.

OnePlus Pad Specifications, Features

The OnePlus Pad is a well-built Android tablet that comes encased in an all-metal chassis. The tablet features slim bezels that house a large 11.6-inch IPS LCD with a 2.8K display and a resolution of 2800 x 2000 pixels. The display has a high 144Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+ as well as Dolby Vision which promises smooth scrolling and gaming experience.

Unusal for a tablet, the OnePlus Pad packs an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC along with Mali G710 GPU for graphics. This is a flagship-grade chipset which powers the likes of the ROG Phone 6D, Vivo X80, and Tecno Phantom X2 series among others. The tablet also offers up to 12GB RAM, and comes with 128GB and 256GB of internal storage.

Is The OnePlus Pad A Rebranded Oppo Pad 2?

The OnePlus Pad is equipped with a single 13MP rear camera with an LED flash. It is landscape oriented. There's an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies, video calls, and face unlock.

The OnePlus Pad packs a massive 9500mAh battery, which supports 67W wired fast charging. The device runs on OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13 OS out of the box in global markets.

It is interesting to note that the recently leaked Oppo Pad 2 is also said to come with identical specifications and features. Hence, it seems fair to speculate that the OnePlus Pad could simply be a rebranded Oppo tablet meant for markets outside China.

OnePlus Pad Price And Availability In India

The OnePlus Pad is available in two RAM options: 8 GB and 12 GB. Buyers have the option to get this tablet in either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. OnePlus may sell a detachable keyboard as a separate accessory for the tablet, which will be offered in a Halo Green color option.

Is The OnePlus Pad A Rebranded Oppo Pad 2?

The OnePlus Pad will be available to pre-order in India, North America, Europe, and the Middle East in April. OnePlus hasn't revealed the price of the OnePlus Pad as yet. However, few reports suggest that the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage could cost ₹39,999. The top-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage may be priced at ₹44,999.
