A New Performance-Camera Balance

Oppo has been relying on MediaTek’s 8000-series chips for its Reno Pro models over the past few years, and the Dimensity 8500 looks like the next logical step. Smart Pikachu’s post hints that the chipset is being used across several upcoming phones from different brands, including Oppo’s Reno 15 lineup. The same source also mentioned that some of these new devices could feature 200MP cameras, advanced periscope lenses, and even large-capacity batteries, showing how versatile the new SoC might be.

For Oppo, this could mean a more capable Reno series than usual, with better power efficiency and camera processing. The Reno 15 Pro, in particular, is rumored to feature a 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor, which would mark a big jump for the brand’s photography-focused midrange segment.
