Xiaomi 17T Series Could Launch in India After a Four-Year Gap

Xiaomi seems to be moving faster than ever. Just weeks after launching the Xiaomi 15T lineup and its flagship 17 series, the company already appears to be gearing up for its next T-series phones — the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro. What makes this especially interesting is that Xiaomi might finally bring the T-series back to India, nearly four years after its last appearance.

Xiaomi 17T Series Could Launch in India After a Four-Year Gap

Xiaomi May Skip “16T” Entirely

According to a report by XiaomiTime, new IMEI database listings have revealed model numbers associated with Xiaomi’s upcoming T-series flagships. The entries — starting with “2602” — typically correspond to devices scheduled for a February 2026 launch window. Interestingly, the listings confirm that Xiaomi is skipping the “16T” name altogether, continuing the pattern it set by skipping the 16 series for its main flagship lineup earlier this year.

T-Series Could Return to India After Four Years

The IMEI database also shows two versions of the Xiaomi 17T: one labeled for the global market and another tagged with an Indian variant code. This detail has sparked speculation that Xiaomi could be bringing its T-series back to India for the first time since the Xiaomi 11T lineup in 2021.

However, the 17T Pro seems to be missing an Indian version for now, with only global model numbers surfacing. That could mean Xiaomi’s initial focus will be on the standard 17T in India, possibly followed by a Pro variant later depending on market response.

What to Expect from the Upcoming Models

While Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed any hardware details, early speculation points to MediaTek’s next-generation Dimensity 8500 and the new Dimensity 9500 chipsets powering the 17T and 17T Pro. Both devices are also rumored to debut with HyperOS 3 globally.

Xiaomi’s Flagship Strategy for 2026

Between the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max launches in China, and upcoming models like the 17 Ultra and 17s Pro, Xiaomi’s 2026 calendar already looks packed. The 17T series could serve as the company’s global mid-cycle flagship refresh, sitting between its mainstream flagships and the Ultra range.

With the possible February launch window, Xiaomi might stick to its familiar release rhythm — one major flagship line in the second half of the year and a performance-focused T-series update early in the next.
