Oppo Reno S India Launch Slated For December, Could Be Priced Above Rs. 40,000
After launching the Oppo Reno 2 smartphones in India, the company is now gearing up to bring a new smartphone dubbed Reno S to the country. Of late, we have been coming across some speculations regarding this device. Now, we have details regarding its launch date and possible pricing in the country.
As per a report by 91mobiles citing industry sources, the Oppo Reno S could be launched with a 64MP primary camera sensor at the back. It is believed to support 65W Super VOOC 2.0 fast charging technology as well.
The report adds that the upcoming Oppo smartphone will hit the Indian market in the first week of December. It is likely to be available via both online and offline retailers and carry a price tag of above Rs. 40,000.
Oppo Reno S - What To Expect
Talking about the Oppo Reno S, it looks like the smartphone will get the power from a Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. Recently, the Realme X2 Pro was unveiled in the company's home market China and it is slated to be launched in India on November 20. The Realme smartphone uses a Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, 64MP camera sensor and 65W fast charging support.
While some specifications of both these smartphones appear to be similar, we can expect the Oppo Reno S to arrive with key camera-centric features that will leverage the optics expertise of the previous devices in the lineup.
The 65W Super VOOC 2.0 65W fast charging technology is touted to charge a 4000mAh battery from 0% to 50% in nearly 10 minutes. Also, it is claimed to charge the device completely in less than 27 minutes.
What We Think
Oppo launched the Reno smartphones in India in June this year with the Reno and Reno 10X Zoom. Following these, the Reno 2, Reno 2Z, and Reno 2F were launched in the country. Given that the Reno S could be priced above Rs. 40,000, we can expect the device to be a high-end model competing against the premium offerings from other brands.
