Pixel 7a Price Leaked Ahead of Launch: Is It Google's Most Affordable Phone Yet?

Google is gearing up to host its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2023, on May 10. The event is expected to feature the unveiling of the next iteration of Android, along with updates on the company's advancements in artificial intelligence and several hardware launches, including the Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel 7a.

Google India has already announced that the Pixel 7a will launch in India on May 11, and the rumored price for the 128GB model has been leaked online. According to a report by MySmartPrice, the handset could be priced at SGD 749, which is approximately ₹46,000.

Google Pixel 7a: Price & Specifications

According to MySmartPrice, a Singapore-based retailer was the source of the leaked price for the Google Pixel 7a. Interestingly, the Pixel 6a launched in Singapore in 2022 with the same price tag for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, which suggests that the Pixel 7a may be similarly priced in India.

A recent report suggests that the Pixel 7a will be the last offering in Google's 'a' series smartphones, as the company plans to discontinue the lineup. The leaked price of the Pixel 7a seems to confirm this report, as the phone is priced very close to the Pixel 7, which is already available on Flipkart for ₹49,999. The Pixel 7a is expected to have major upgrades over the Pixel 6a.

Flipkart has created a microsite for the Pixel 7a, which states that the phone will be launched on May 11.

The Pixel 7a is expected to feature a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and will be powered by Google's in-house Tensor G2 chipset, which is also used in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. It is rumored to come with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage and to have a 64MP rear camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10.8MP front-facing camera.

The phone is expected to have a 4,400mAh battery with 20W wired and wireless fast charging support and to run on Android 13 out of the box, with the possibility of being upgradable to Android 14.
