Pixel 8a Full Specifications Leaked Ahead of May 14 Launch at Google I/O 2024

The Pixel 8a is making its global debut on May 14 at Google I/O 2024. Apart from the Pixel 8a, Google is also expected to provide more details about Android 15 and updates on Gemini AI.

However, our focus is on the Google Pixel 8a. As of now, Google is yet to reveal any details about the Pixel 8a but a recent report by Android Authority gives us the most detailed look at the Pixel 8a yet.

Google Pixel 8a Specifications (Expected)

As expected, the Google Pixel 8a will use the Tensor G3 chipset, which powers the flagship Pixel 8 series, similar to past editions. The Tensor G3 SoC will be paired with the Titan M2 security chip. Moreover, the Pixel 8a will also come with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Moreover, the report also notes that the Pixel 8a will sport a 6.1-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is an update with the 90Hz OLED screen on its predecessor. As of now, there is no information on the battery capacity of the Pixel 8a, although it should be slightly larger than the Pixel 8.

The Pixel 8a is also expected to support wired and wireless fast charging. For optics, the Google Pixel 8a could use a 64 MP Sony IMX787 primary camera with OIS, an f/1.89 aperture, and a 1/1.73-inch sensor size. It will be paired with a 13 MP Sony IMX712 ultrawide shooter.

Up front, the Pixel 8a will feature a 13 MP Sony IMX 712 camera for selfies. The report notes that the Pixel 8a will also feature an in-display fingerprint reader and the panel will reach a peak brightness of 1,400 nits, which pales in comparison to the Pixel 8.

Google Pixel 8a Launch, Expected Pricing

The Google Pixel 8a launch date is set for May 14 at Google's annual I/O event. The Pixel 8a is also expected to make its debut in India as well as 30 other countries, according to Android Authority's recent reporting. The report also suggests that the Google Pixel 8a price will start from EUR 570 (roughly Rs 51,450). However, we believe, the Pixel 8a's price in India will start from under Rs 45,000.
