Poco F5, Poco F5 Pro camera, chipset, display details revealed ahead of May 9 launch

The Poco F5 series is making its global debut in less than 10 days. The line-up is expected to consist of the Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro. Ahead of the launch the brand has confirmed details about the Poco F5 Pro's chipset, cameras, design, and display.

The Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro global launch date is set for May 9 at 05:30 pm (IST). The Poco F5 5G is expected to make its debut in India soon after the global launch, although the Poco F5 Pro is unlikely to make its way to the country.

Poco F5 Cameras, Performance

Poco India recently teased the Poco F5 would debut as the first smartphone in India to use the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC, which was announced earlier this year. In a recent post, The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip is seen in action with an overall AnTuTu score of 969,903 points, which is higher than the Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 870 chipsets.

Moreover, the phone is also shaped like the Xiaomi 12 Pro Plus with a dual-tone, glossy finish. The Poco F5 5G also has a triple-camera setup on the back with a 64 MP sensor at the helm. Other Poco F5 5G specifications are still under wraps.

Poco F5 Pro Design, Display

However, the Poco F5 Pro was recently teased to feature a WQHD+ display. However, there is no mention whether the phone will use an OLED or LCD panel, although it will likely be the former as there's no side-mounted fingerprint reader.

The image also reveals the button placement and frame of the Poco F5 Pro. The brand does appear to be cutting some corners here to make the device more accessible with the plastic frame. Additionally, the power and volume buttons are placed on the right side of the device, while USB Type-C port, SIM card slot, and speaker grille are all located at the bottom.

Poco F5 Pro, Poco F5 Pricing

Details about the Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro are still under wraps, although recent leaks have emerged about their pricing. The Poco F5 price in India is tipped to start from under Rs 30,000, similar to last year's Poco F4.

The Poco F5 Pro is unlikely to make its debut in India but rumours suggest it will cost anywhere between $500 (roughly Rs 40,900) to $600 (roughly Rs 49,100) in other markets. The Poco F5 is also expected to be rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which was unveiled in China back in March, while the 'Pro' model could be a rebagged Redmi K60.
