Poco X5 GT Gets IMDA Certified; Expected to Launch Soon

Earlier this month, Poco launched the Poco X5 Pro in India, while the European market got the Poco X5 5G. Rumor has it that the company is working on a new model, dubbed the Poco X5 GT. While the smartphone cleared the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification last week, the X5 GT has now appeared on Singapore's IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) certification website, hinting that it could launch soon.

Poco X5 GT Spotted on IMDA

The POCO X5 GT was spotted on the IMDA certification website with model number 23049PCD8G. According to the listing, the smartphone will support 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. Unfortunately, no other details could be made out from the listing.

The X5 GT, bearing model number 23049PCD8I, was also spotted on the BIS website recently. Its appearance on the site hints at an imminent launch in India.

Poco X5 GT Rumored Specifications

The Poco X5 GT was also spotted on the IMEI website, indicating that the smartphone could be a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo. The new Redmi smartphone will be exclusively launched in China. We can expect the Poco X5 GT to be similar to the Redmi Note 12 Turbo.

The Note 12 Turbo is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 SoC, which utilizes TSMC's 4nm process. It will also likely come with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

As for the display, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo is likely to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Additionally, the smartphone will likely include a triple-rear camera setup that comprises a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. At the front, it could sport a 16MP selfie camera. We can expect the phone to boot MIUI 14, based on Android 13.
