POCO X8 Launched Globally with 8,340mAh Battery, 1.5K OLED Display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, HyperOS 3
POCO has officially announced the global launch of its new POCO X8, expanding its mid-range smartphone lineup with a strong focus on battery life and durability.
The biggest highlight for Indian buyers is the upcoming India-specific variant, which will pack a massive 9,000mAh battery. The POCO X8 India launch is scheduled for September 4, while the global model comes with an 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery.

POCO X8 Specifications and Features
The POCO X8 packs an 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery globally, featuring 13 per cent silicon content for higher capacity without significantly increasing the phone's thickness. The battery has received a five-star performance certification from TÜV SÜD, with POCO claiming over two days of heavy usage. However, the Indian variant will feature an even larger 9,000mAh battery.
The phone supports 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing it to power other compatible devices and accessories. On the front, the smartphone features a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is rated to withstand drops onto hard surfaces from up to three metres.
The POCO X8 also focuses heavily on durability, featuring IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for protection against dust, water immersion and high-pressure water exposure, along with a dedicated underwater mode for capturing photos and videos underwater. Powering the smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset with an Adreno GPU, while the device runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 with the HyperIsland interface and integrated Google Gemini AI tools.
For photography, it gets a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical and electronic image stabilisation, paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
POCO X8 Price in India: What to Expect
The global POCO X8 starts at USD 269, which converts to approximately Rs 25,540. This price applies to the entry-level variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The higher-end model with 12GB RAM is priced at USD 349.
POCO has yet to reveal the official POCO X8 price in India. However, the Indian version's significantly larger 9,000mAh battery could make it a particularly interesting proposition in the country's competitive mid-range smartphone segment.
With the POCO X8 India launch confirmed for September 4, more details about its Indian pricing, configurations and availability are expected to be announced soon.
