Home-grown brand Reach Mobile today launched a new smartphone called Allure Rise, in collaboration with Reliance Jio. Priced at just Rs. 5,499, the smartphone is available for purchase via Flipkart and ShopClues. Jio subscribers will get a cashback of Rs. 2,200 on the purchase of Allure Rise.
"India has emerged out to be a land of digital connection. To supplement this, we are thrilled to present our new smart-phone, "Allure Rise", in an effort to elevate the market further. Emphasizing on the trifecta of efficiency, innovation and unmatched performance throughout use, we aim to deliver products that enhance our customer's day-to-day experience, without an exorbitant pricing," said Mr Amit Garg, Product Manager Reach Mobile, commenting on the launch.
In terms of specifications, the Reach Allure Rise comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS Display with the screen resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. The display is covered with a scratch-proof hard coated surface. Under the hood, the smartphone is driven by a quad-core processor that runs at 1.3GHz. The chipset is teamed up with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB using the microSD card.
On the optics front, the smartphone features an 8MP rear-facing camera that is equipped with an LED flash. Up front, there is a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. As for software, the Allure Rise runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. A 2,600mAh Li-ion battery (removable) powers the entire package. The smartphone is VoLTE/ViLTE enabled.
Many smartphone manufacturers are now focusing on the budget segment in India. While the number of smartphone users has gone up over the past few years, not everyone can afford to spend much on a mobile device. This is why OEMs are looking to bring smartphones that fall into the sub-5K category.
In October 2017, Reach Mobile had launched a budget smartphone called Allure Secure. Priced at Rs. 4,499, it features a 5-inch FWVGA display, quad-core SC9832A processor, 1GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The smartphone also comes with an 8MP rear-facing primary camera and an 8MP front camera. The Allure Secure runs on Android Nougat and is powered by a 2,500mAh battery.
Well, there is hardly any difference between the newly launched Allure Rise and last year's Allure Secure. So it remains to be seen how the Allure Rise does in terms of sales.
