Realme 12 Pro, Realme 12 Pro+ India Launch Imminent as BIS Listing Spotted

Realme could be gearing up to launch the next generation of smartphones in its 'Number' series soon. The Realme 12 Pro series could make its debut in India soon.

According to a recent report by Gizmochina, the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ with model numbers RMX3842 and RMX3840 were spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website.

Realme 12 Pro Series: Launch, Pricing

The company has yet to announce an official release date for the Realme 12 Pro series. However, the successor to the Realme 11 Pro series is expected to make its debut in India soon.

To recall, the Realme 11 Pro features a starting price of Rs 22,999 in India, while the Realme 11 Pro Plus price in India starts from Rs 27,999. However, the Realme 12 Pro series could fall under the 35K mark in the country.

Realme 12 Pro Series: What we know so far

A recent leak also suggests that the Realme 12 Pro Plus will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. This suggests a major improvement from the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chip on the Realme 11 Pro Plus.

The report also suggests that the Realme 12 Pro+ could feature a 64MP OmniVision OV64B 3x periscope telephoto camera. On the other hand, the Realme 12 Pro is expected to feature a 32MP Sony IMX709 2x telephoto lens.

Realme vs Redmi

The Realme 12 Pro series BIS certification appears to have come at a time when Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil its Redmi Note 13 series. The Redmi Note 13 series is expected to make its global and Indian debut in January 2024.

Historically, the Redmi Note series has been the biggest competitor to the Realme 'Number' series in India. So Realme trying to one-up Redmi with the arrival of the Realme 12 Pro series ahead of the Redmi Note 13 series launch shouldn't come as a surprise.
