Realme Confirms GT 8 Series Launch in China This October: Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, 7000mAh Battery Expected
The Android flagship race for late 2025 is already heating up. We’ve heard whispers of Xiaomi’s 16 series possibly landing as early as September, but Realme is now officially staking its claim on October. And if early hints are accurate, the company isn’t holding back.

An October Launch With a New Look
Realme Vice President Wang Wei confirmed that the GT 8 series will make its debut in October. He’s keeping specifics close to the chest, but promised a redesigned look and a few surprises along the way. It’s not the first time Realme has talked up a launch, but this time the hardware leaks suggest they might be serious about pushing into ultra-premium territory.
The Chip That Could Set the Tone
Under the hood, both the GT 8 and GT 8 Pro are expected to use Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. It’s the same next-gen processor reportedly lined up for other late-2025 Android flagships.
Bigger Battery, Sharper Display
If the leaks hold up, the GT 8 Pro will sport a 6.85-inch 2K OLED panel supplied by Samsung, treated with an anti-glare coating similar to the one found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. A large battery — rumored to be well over 7,000mAh — and 100W fast charging could also give it some serious stamina.
Durability might also get an upgrade. Reports point to a metal middle frame, something Realme hasn’t always included in past GT models.
A Zoom Lens Worth Noticing
Cameras are where the GT 8 Pro might really stand out. A 200MP periscope telephoto sensor, possibly Samsung’s HP9, is said to be in the works. That’s the same sensor being linked to Oppo’s next Find X9 Pro, suggesting we could see competitive long-range photography here.
Price Could Make or Break It
Realme hasn’t shared pricing yet. For reference, the GT 7 Pro started at around $500 in China. Given the rumored upgrades, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the GT 8 Pro push higher — but keeping it within striking distance of its rivals could be key to its success.
