Realme GT 7 and GT 8 Pro Key Specifications Tipped Ahead of Launch: Here’s What to Expect
Realme is setting the stage for a busy 2025 with two flagship models, the GT 7 and GT 8 Pro, making waves in the rumor mill.
Leaks from well-regarded Chinese tipsters suggest the company is doubling down on battery life, high-performance chipsets, and competitive pricing as it aims to square off against rivals like Redmi, iQOO, and OnePlus.

GT 7 Could Launch First with Dimensity 9400+
Tipster Digital Chat Station, who has a solid track record when it comes to smartphone leaks, recently shared that the Realme GT 7 is gearing up for a launch in the first half of this year. What’s interesting here is the chipset—it’s expected to debut with MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9400 Plus, a slightly overclocked version of the standard Dimensity 9400. According to leaks, the 9400+ will clock in at around 3.7GHz.
If that timeline holds up, the GT 7 could end up being the first phone on the market with this chip—especially since the SoC itself is rumored to go official on April 11. So we’re probably looking at a spring release for the GT 7.
But performance isn’t the only headline here. The GT 7 is also said to come with a flat display and a massive single-cell battery that crosses the 7,000mAh mark—paired with 100W fast charging. That kind of battery capacity, especially in a single-cell design, is something we haven’t really seen in mainstream flagships before.
On top of that, Realme is supposedly slimming things down. The GT 7 is rumored to be lighter and thinner than last year’s GT 6, which already wasn’t exactly chunky at 8.4mm and 207 grams.
With specs like these, the GT 7 seems aimed squarely at devices like the Redmi K80 Ultra and the iQOO Neo 10S Pro, both of which are also expected to feature the Dimensity 9400+.
GT 8 Pro: Realme’s Late-Year Power Move
While the GT 7 is expected to kick off Realme’s flagship season, the GT 8 Pro looks like the end-of-year showstopper. This one comes from another well-known Chinese leaker, Smart Pikachu, who suggests that Realme is working on a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2-powered device. That almost certainly points to the GT 8 Pro.
The phone is rumored to feature a flat OLED panel with 2K resolution—an upgrade from the micro-curved 1.5K display on last year’s GT 7 Pro. It’s also expected to keep the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, which has slowly become a hallmark of Realme’s higher-end models.
Battery-wise, it looks like Realme is sticking to its big-battery trend. The GT 8 Pro is said to feature a unit exceeding 7,000mAh, continuing the brand’s apparent shift toward endurance-focused flagships.
If the GT 7 Pro’s launch cycle is anything to go by—it debuted in November 2024—the GT 8 Pro will likely arrive around the same time this year, putting it in direct competition with the Redmi K90 Pro, OnePlus 14, and iQOO 15 series.
Realme GT 7 Likely Headed to India Too
There’s also some buzz around an Indian variant of the GT 7. According to a report from 91mobiles, a Realme phone with model number RMX5060 has surfaced, and it’s speculated to be the Indian version of the GT 7.
Interestingly, this device might be a rebranded version of the Realme Neo 7, which launched in China with the Dimensity 9300+. So while the international GT 7 may ship with the newer 9400+, the Indian release could go a slightly different route depending on regional availability and pricing strategies.
