Realme GT 7 Launch Timeline Tipped; May Take the Title of Most Affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite Phone

Realme is gearing up to introduce a new addition to its GT series, the GT 7. Although official confirmation is still pending, the phone has already appeared on China's 3C and TENAA certification sites. Recent updates have hinted at both the launch timeline and potential pricing for this upcoming model.

The Realme GT 7 is anticipated to make its debut in China by late February, aligning with the release schedule of the Neo 7 SE. This upcoming handset is set to challenge the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro for the title of the most budget-friendly smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Interestingly, the Ace 5 Pro launched at 3,399 Yuan (around Rs 38,999), hinting at a more competitive price point for the GT 7.

Realme GT 7: Expected Features

The Realme GT 7 is likely to be a cost-effective variant of last year's GT 7 Pro, which featured the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Unlike its predecessor, it may not include a periscope telephoto camera but will maintain similar specifications. This change results in a redesigned dual-camera setup, replacing the triple-camera configuration found on the GT 7 Pro.

The camera system on the GT 7 is expected to consist of a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a front-facing camera with a resolution of 16MP for selfies. These features suggest that while some high-end elements are omitted, core photography capabilities remain robust.

Display and Charging Capabilities

A previous listing on TENAA provided insights into the Realme GT 7's technical details. The device will sport a sizable 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K, promising vibrant colours and smooth visual performance. This display size and quality indicate an emphasis on delivering an immersive viewing experience.

Additionally, it was noted in a 3C certification that the phone supports wired fast charging at an impressive rate of 120W through an adapter identified by model number VCBOACH. This suggests that quick-charging capabilities will be a significant focus for this model, likely paired with a substantial battery capacity.
