Forget the Realme GT 7—The Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition Could Launch This Month with Snapdragon 8 Elite
Realme is gearing up to launch a new addition to its GT series, and this one is all about speed and performance. Chase Xu, Realme's Vice President and President of Global Marketing, has confirmed that a "racing" edition GT phone is in the works for China.
According to reports from WHY LAB, a well-known Chinese tech blogger, this upcoming device will be called the Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition and will cater specifically to users who prioritize performance-especially mobile gamers.

A Realme Phone Spotted on TENAA - Is This the Racing Edition?
A new Realme device with the model number RMX5090 recently surfaced on China's TENAA certification website. Initial speculation suggested that this was the standard Realme GT 7, but WHY LAB has clarified that it is likely the GT 7 Pro Racing Edition instead.
Xu has also hinted that the phone's branding will include the word "racing", which aligns with its rumored high-performance tuning and gaming-first approach.
What to Expect from the Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition
The Racing Edition is expected to share many core specifications with the standard GT 7 Pro, but with a few key differences. The most notable trade-off appears to be in the camera department-the Racing Edition is rumored to drop the periscope telephoto lens from the Pro model in favor of a simpler dual-camera setup.
Expected Specifications:
- Display: 6.78-inch 8T LTPO Samsung panel, 2780×1264 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a micro-quad-curved design
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite
- RAM & Storage: Up to 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage
- Battery & Charging: 6,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging
- Rear Cameras: 50MP primary sensor with OIS, 8MP ultra-wide lens
- Front Camera: 16MP selfie camera
- Fingerprint Sensor: Optical in-display sensor (instead of the ultrasonic sensor on the GT 7 Pro)
Realme seems to be focusing on raw performance rather than premium camera hardware. By making this trade-off, the Racing Edition will likely deliver a powerful gaming experience while keeping the price competitive.
Realme Neo 7 SE Rumored to Launch Too
Interestingly, Realme may launch another phone alongside the Racing Edition-the Realme Neo 7 SE, rumored to feature MediaTek's Dimensity 8400 Max chipset. This suggests that Realme is targeting both the premium gaming segment and the mid-range market at the same time.
When Will It Launch?
Realme hasn't provided an official launch date yet, but given its recent TENAA certification, an announcement could be coming soon. More details on pricing and availability are expected in the coming weeks.
