Geekbench Leak
While Xiaomi has kept official details about the Redmi 12 5G under wraps, a device with the model number 23076RN4BI has recently surfaced on Geekbench, offering a glimpse into some key specifications.

Specs
Let's evaluate the Redmi 12 4G since the 5G version is not expected to differ significantly from its 4G counterpart. The Redmi 12 4G features a 6.79-inch LCD screen with FHD+ resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It comes with an 8MP front camera and a 50MP primary camera accompanied by 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lenses.

Powered by MediaTek's Helio G88 chipset, the phone offers choices of 4GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB expandable storage. Running on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, it is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 18W charging, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a headphone jack, and IP53 splash protection.
Regarding the 5G variant, the Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G is anticipated to operate on the latest Android 13 OS and might be equipped with the capable Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, which is a 5G chipset. The configuration is likely to include 2 primary cores running at 2.21 GHz and 6 additional cores at 1.96 GHz.
Furthermore, the device boasts 8GB of RAM, though there might be additional memory options available to cater to various user needs.
Redmi 12 5G vs. Redmi Note 12R
There's a possibility that the Redmi 12 5G could be a variant of the Redmi Note 12R, which shares similarities with the Redmi 12 4G, including the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, a 5MP front-facing camera, and the absence of an ultrawide camera.
Anticipated Launch in India
The Xiaomi 23076RN4BI has also been listed in BIS' database, indicating its upcoming launch in India. With Xiaomi's scheduled launch event for the Redmi 12 in India on August 1, there's anticipation about whether it will be the 4G model or the highly anticipated 5G version.
