Redmi 12: India Variant Spotted on Geekbench, To Launch on August 1

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi 12 in India. The launch is scheduled for August 1. Ahead of the launch, the phone has now appeared on Geekbench. This listing confirms several specifications of the phone like processor, RAM information, and software version that Redmi 12 is expected to run on.

Ahead of the launch, the company has been slowly revealing more about the upcoming smartphone. They've even officially confirmed the colour variants the phone is expected to come in. Let's take a closer look at the confirmed and rumoured specifications.

Redmi 12 India Variant: Processor and RAM

The Redmi 12 India variant appeared with the model number 23053RN02I on Geekbench, the certification site.

According to the listing, the phone is going to be powered by MediaTek's octa-core Helio G88 processor.

The Redmi 12 will also boast of 6GB of RAM.

Additionally, the listing confirmed that the phone will run on Android 13 out of the box with a layer of MIUI skin on top.

The device also produced results of 436 and 1388 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

Redmi 12: Specifications and Details

The phone is expected to come with the same specifications as the global variant of the phone, which was launched in Thailand earlier in the year.

The device comes with a 6.79-inch display with a Full HD+ 2460 x 1080 pixels resolution. Additional details of display include 396 PPI pixel density, up to 550 nits brightness, and a 90Hz refresh rate.

In the global variant, the phone came with options of 4GB/8GB RAM along with 128GB/256GB storage.

The triple camera set up at the back of the phone comprised of a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. Additionally, it has a 8MP selfie camera.

The 5,000mAh battery of the Redmi12 supports 18W fast charging. Additionally, the smartphone also features AI face unlock support, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and an IP53 rating.

Pricing and availability of the phone is expected to be known during its official launch on August 1.
