Redmi 12C Launched in Global Markets: Specifications, Features

The Redmi 12C has made its global debut, arriving first in Indonesia. The smartphone, which launched in China late last year, will also likely launch in India soon. The Redmi 12C is an affordable smartphone, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.

Redmi 12C Specifications

The Redmi 12C features a 6.71-inch LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 1,650 x 720 pixels. The display has an aspect ratio of 20.6:9, 500 nits peak brightness, and a 1500:1 contrast ratio.

The budget smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, which is accompanied by up to 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage. The memory can be further expanded by up to 1TB with a microSD card.

Moving on to imaging, the Redmi 12C features a 50MP rear camera, which is paired with a depth sensor. In addition, there's a 5MP selfie camera at the front. The smartphone can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

Connectivity options on the Redmi 12C include 4G, dual-band WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.1. The handset also has a fingerprint sensor at the rear, a 3.5mm audio jack, and dual SIM support.

The Redmi 12C packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. As for software, the phone boots Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. The phone will receive two Android updates and three years of security updates.

Redmi 12C Availability, Price

The Redmi 12C comes in three storage options, with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. The budget device is available in Graphite Gray and Ocean Blue colorways.

The Redmi 12C will be available for purchase in Indonesia from March 10, 2023. The 3GB + 32GB model costs Rp 1,399,000 (around ₹7,500), while the 4GB + 64GB model costs Rp 1,599,000 (around ₹8,500). Finally, the 4GB + 128GB model is priced at Rp 1,799,000 (around ₹9,500).
