Redmi 12C Nears Launch as It Secures BIS & TRDA Certification

We recently reported on the leaked specifications of Xiaomi's upcoming Redmi 12C smartphone. Now that the device has received BIS and TRDA certifications, it appears that the budget smartphone will be released in India and the UAE, respectively.

Redmi 12C Clears BIS and TRDA Certification

Tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings) shared the BIS and TRDA listings for the Redmi 12C with the model number 22120RN86I for the Indian version, whereas the TRDA listing for its global counterpart bears the model number 22120RN86G.

The TRDA certification website mentions the name of the upcoming phone, even though the BIS listing does not.

Redmi 12C Rumored Specifications

The Redmi 12C's recently leaked spec sheet gives us a good idea of what to expect from the device. We covered the leak extensively, but here's a rundown of the specs.

The device will have a 6.71-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1650 pixels, 500 nits of brightness, and a 20.6:9 aspect ratio.

A MediaTek Helio G85 processor will handle the processing tasks. There will be a 50MP dual-camera setup and a 5MP selfie shooter.

It will have a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging and an intriguing three-year "fluid experience" claim that we'll have to wait for the device to see.

The device is also rumored to come in three configurations: 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 3 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.

Redmi 12C: Price and Availability

The Redmi 12C is rumored to retail for EUR 149 (~ ₹13,090), while the top configuration could set you back EUR 199 (~ ₹17,483).

Although a specific launch date isn't known yet, the device could launch soon, given that it cleared the required certifications. We'll keep you posted as Xiaomi trickles more information about the device in the coming days.
