Redmi 12C Specifications Leaked Ahead of Global Launch
The affordable Redmi 12C debuted in China earlier this year. The smartphone maker is reportedly preparing to launch the device in global markets on February 26, 2023. Ahead of the launch, key specs of the Redmi 12C have leaked online.
Going by the leaked poster, we could expect the global variant to be similar to the Chinese model. Here's everything we know about the upcoming budget-friendly smartphone.
Redmi 12C Leaked Specifications
According to the image shared by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, the global variant of the Redmi 12C will be equipped with a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. Additionally, the smartphone will pack a 5,000mAh battery. Previous leaks suggested that the device will have 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The leaked poster reveals that the Redmi 12C will have a 6.71-inch display. The Chinese model has an aspect ratio of 20:9, a peak brightness of 500 nits, and a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz. The phone has fairly thin bezels surrounding the display and a waterdrop notch at the top. There's also a fingerprint sensor at the rear.
As for imaging, the global variant of the Redmi 12C will have a dual-camera setup comprising a 50MP primary camera and a depth sensor. We can expect the phone to sport a 5MP front camera for selfies, just like the Chinese variant.
Additionally, the Redmi 12C will include a microSD card for storage expansion and a powerful speaker at the bottom. The affordable smartphone will reportedly have a USB Type-C port with support for 10W charging. The global variant is expected to boot Android 12 out of the box with a layer of MIUI 13.
The 12C will come in green, pink, black, and blue colorways. The base model of the Redmi 12C with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage could cost EUR 170 (around ₹15,000). Meanwhile, the high-end model with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage could be priced at EUR 200 (around ₹17,600).
