Redmi A5 India Launch Set for April 15; Flipkart Microsite Confirms Key Details
Xiaomi is bringing its next budget-friendly smartphone to India, with the Redmi A5 officially launching on April 15 at 12 PM IST. Following the Redmi A4 5G that arrived late last year, the A5 takes a more accessible route with a 4G-only variant, aiming to offer solid specs at a price that stays under ₹10,000.
The phone will be sold via Flipkart, where a dedicated page is already live, giving us a look at the design and a few confirmed features.

What We Know So Far
The Redmi A5 is expected to feature a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is rare for phones in this price range. Xiaomi is also touting TÜV Rheinland certification, which usually means better eye comfort for extended screen use.
Powering the device is the Unisoc T7250 processor, which is a step up for daily tasks and light app use. On the battery front, the A5 comes with a 5,200mAh battery, though fast charging support for India hasn't been confirmed yet. Globally, the phone supports 15W charging, so that may carry over.
Camera specs haven't been officially announced for the Indian model, but the global version includes a 32MP main camera and an 8MP front shooter, along with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, AG frosted glass back, and dual-band Wi-Fi.
Color Options and Expected Price
The Redmi A5 will be available in Jaisalmer Gold, Pondicherry Blue, and Just Black. With the A4 5G priced at ₹8,499, the A5 is expected to land in a similar bracket, likely between ₹8,000 and ₹9,500.
