Redmi K80 Series Launching Next Week: Redmi K80 Pro Could Debut as Most Affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite Phone

Xiaomi's Redmi brand has officially unveiled details about its upcoming K80 series. Scheduled to debut next week, the series includes two models: the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro, positioned to deliver top-tier specifications.

However, unlike previous launches, there will be no K80e variant this year, allowing Redmi to concentrate on delivering premium features across the two devices.

Display Tech Prioritizing Eye Health

The K80 series introduces a 2K resolution display developed by TCL Huaxing, referred to by Xiaomi as the "Grand Slam 2K Screen." This screen is equipped with hardware-level features to reduce strain on users' eyes, including full-brightness DC dimming, circular polarization, and a blue light filter. Certified by TÜV Rheinland and clinically approved by the Zhongshan Eye Center at Sun Yat-sen University, these displays are designed to ensure flicker-free use and long-term eye protection.

The display also boasts a peak brightness of 1800 nits, matching Xiaomi's flagship Xiaomi 15, and uses customized M9 luminous material, which reduces power consumption by 20.3% compared to the previous K70 series. These features make the screen both energy-efficient and highly adaptable to various lighting conditions.

Powerful Snapdragon Processors for High-End Performance

The K80 series is built for performance. The Redmi K80 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the K80 Pro takes it a step further with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Both processors are designed for smooth multitasking, gaming, and content creation, ensuring these devices cater to power users.

Camera Setups

The camera configurations vary between the two models. The Redmi K80 features a 50MP main sensor alongside an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro lens, making it suitable for everyday photography needs. The K80 Pro offers a more advanced setup, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 32MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens for greater versatility. Both models include a 20MP front-facing camera for high-quality selfies and video calls.

Long-Lasting Batteries with Fast Charging Capabilities

Battery performance is another area where the K80 series stands out. The K80 comes with a 6500mAh battery and supports 90W wired fast charging. The K80 Pro, though slightly smaller at 6000mAh, makes up for it with 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Also, both models will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
