Redmi Note 12 4G India Launch Confirmed: Check Specs, Features, and Availability Of Budget Android Smartphone

Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of the Redmi Note 12 4G in India. The smartphone belongs to the latest Redmi Note 12 series and has features such as a 120Hz AMOLED display, 50MP primary camera, and 5000mAh battery.

The Redmi Note 12 4G is the sixth Android smartphone in the Redmi Note 12 series. So far, Xiaomi has launched Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition, and Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. Let's take a look at the only Redmi Note 12 series smartphone to be limited to 4G networks before it launches in India.

Redmi Note 12 4G Microsite Goes Live On Flipkart

The upcoming Redmi Note 12 will be the first 4G smartphone in the Note 12 lineup. Xiaomi announced via its social media channels that the smartphone will launch in India on March 30.

The Redmi Note 12 launch microsite has gone live on Flipkart. Xiaomi's own website has a dedicated page for the smartphone, which reveals the key specifications of the Redmi Note 12 4G.

As the Redmi Note 12 4G belongs to the Note 12 series, it shares many specifications with the other smartphones in the series. This includes the Full HD+ 120Hz AMOLED display with a centered punch-hole notch at the top of the screen.

The major difference between the Redmi Note 12 5G and the Redmi Note 12 4G is the chipset powering these devices. The Redmi Note 12 5G is powered by a Qualcomm SM4375 Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. The Redmi Note 12 4G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC, which is essentially an overclocked iteration of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset.

Redmi Note 12 4G Specifications, Features

Xiaomi has mentioned only the key specifications of the Redmi Note 12 4G. However, previous leaks about the smartphone have revealed most of the features of the midrange Android smartphone.

The Redmi Note 12 4G will feature a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080 × 2400 pixels resolution. The screen is tipped to have a 13MP selfie camera at the front, nestled inside a centrally located punch-hole cutout.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC powering the Redmi Note 12 4G will be accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal storage. Xiaomi may offer a variant of the Redmi Note 12 4G with 6GB RAM, but the internal storage in this model could remain at 128GB. The onboard storage could be expanded by using a microSD card.

The Redmi Note 12 4G has a triple camera setup on the back, comprising a 50MP primary camera. An 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro camera will accompany it. As mentioned above, the smartphone is tipped to feature a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies, video calls, and face unlock.

Xiaomi has embedded a 5000mAh battery inside the Redmi Note 12 4G, which will support 33W wired fast charging via USB Type-C port.

The Redmi Note 12 4G will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded into the power button. There's a 3.5mm audio jack and an IR blaster as well. The smartphone will boot MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13.
