The Redmi Note 12 series could soon welcome another Android smartphone. Live images of the Redmi Note 12, sans the 5G branding, have surfaced.

The Redmi Note 12 4G could be the sixth Android smartphone under the Redmi Note 12 series. So far, Xiaomi has launched Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition, and Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. Let's look at the only Redmi Note 12 smartphone that will be limited to 4G networks.

Redmi Note 12 4G Could Be The First To Feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 12 series in China last year and recently introduced multiple Android smartphones from the series in India. There are five Android smartphones under the Redmi Note 12 series, and each can latch on to 5G networks.

The Redmi Note 12 4G could be the only Android smartphone in the Redmi Note 12 series to be limited to 4G networks, even in China. The live images as well as a brief unboxing video of the Redmi smartphone have leaked online, confirming the specifications, design, and color options.

The Redmi Note 12 4G could be the world's first Android smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC. As the chipset's name suggests, the Snapdragon 685 will have some upgrades over the Snapdragon 680 SoC. However, as the chipset doesn't have a 5G modem, it is unworthy of the Snapdragon 69X or the Snapdragon 7XX branding.

Redmi Note 12 4G Leaked Specifications

Xiaomi hasn't officially confirmed the existence of the Redmi Note 12 4G. Nonetheless, the leaked images do indicate Xiaomi has the device under active production.

The Redmi Note 12 4G will feature a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080 × 2400 pixels resolution. The screen is tipped to have a 13MP selfie camera at the front, nestled inside a centrally located punch-hole cutout.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC powering the Redmi Note 12 4G will be accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal storage. Xiaomi may offer a variant of the Redmi Note 12 4G with 6GB RAM, but the internal storage in this model could remain at 128GB. The onboard storage could be expanded by inserting a microSD card.

The Redmi Note 12 4G has a triple camera setup on the back, comprising a 50MP primary camera. An 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro camera will accompany it. As mentioned above, the smartphone is tipped to feature a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies, video calls, and face unlock.

Xiaomi has reportedly embedded a 5000mAh battery inside the Redmi Note 12 4G, which will support 33W wired fast charging via USB Type-C port, which will also offer data transfers.

The Redmi Note 12 will reportedly feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The smartphone is supposed to have an IP53 rating for resistance to dust and water splashes. The handset weighs 183.5 grams and measures 165.66 × 75.96 × 7.85 mm, indicated a report.

Xiaomi is yet to officially launch the Redmi Note 12 4G. However, as the images and the video suggest, the smartphone could launch soon.

The Redmi Note 12 4G smartphone will reportedly retail in three color options: Onyx Gray, Mint Green, and Ice Blue. The device may be priced at €279 (approx. ₹24,490) for the 4GB + 128GB variant.

The Redmi Note 12 4G should arrive in China. However, as the device is limited to 4G networks, Xiaomi may restrict the launch of the smartphone to select markets.
