Redmi Note 17 Price Range in India Tipped Ahead of Launch: Could Debut on August 6

Xiaomi appears to be gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 17 in India following its recent debut in China. While the company has yet to officially confirm the smartphone's arrival, leaks surrounding its launch timeline, pricing, and specifications have continued to surface online.

The latest report suggests the handset will target the premium mid-range segment and could bring several notable upgrades over its predecessor, including a larger battery and Android 16-based HyperOS 3.

Redmi Note 17 India Price Leaked

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Redmi Note 17 price in India could fall in and around the Rs. 30,000 for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.

The tipster also claims the handset will run HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, out of the box. Xiaomi is reportedly planning to offer four years of Android OS updates and five years of security patches for the smartphone.

Other expected hardware includes LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Since Xiaomi has not confirmed these details, they should be treated as leaks for now.

For comparison, the Redmi Note 15 launched in India earlier this year with a starting price of Rs. 22,999, suggesting the Redmi Note 17 could arrive with a significant price hike if the latest leak proves accurate.

Redmi Note 17 India Launch Timeline

Previous reports suggest the Redmi Note 17 will launch in India on August 6, with the first sale expected to begin on August 11.
Although Xiaomi is yet to announce the official launch date, multiple reports indicate that the Indian variant will closely resemble the Chinese model in terms of specifications and features.

Redmi Note 17 Expected Specifications

If Xiaomi brings the Chinese version to India with minimal changes, the Redmi Note 17 is expected to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,200 nits peak brightness.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor and is expected to pack a massive 8,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries in its segment.

For photography, the Redmi Note 17 is expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary rear camera accompanied by an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The Chinese model debuted at a starting price of CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 18,000) for the 6GB + 128GB variant. More details regarding the Indian pricing, availability, and launch offers are expected to be announced closer to the rumoured August 6 launch.
