Redmi Note 17 Pro Series Launch: How to Watch and What to Expect

The Redmi Note 17 Pro series is launching in India at 12 pm (IST). Following the launch, the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max will be available for purchase in India through Amazon.

We expect the Redmi Note 17 Pro price in India to start from under Rs 35,000. Moreover, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max could come in just under Rs 40,000 for the base model.

Xiaomi will stream the Redmi Note 17 Pro series live on its official YouTube channel and website. We have also embedded the livestream link below for your convenience.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Series Specifications: What We Know So Far

The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, while the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G will use the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 SoC. This suggests Xiaomi is keeping the series in the mid-range performance segment, rather than pushing it into flagship-grade territory.

The display has also been confirmed as a TrueColour AMOLED panel with 12-bit colour depth and a 120Hz refresh rate. For everyday users, this should mean smoother scrolling, better colour reproduction and a more polished viewing experience for streaming, gaming and social media use. The actual screen size and peak brightness details are still expected at the launch.

For optics, the Redmi Note 17 Pro boasts a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The Note 17 Pro Max boasts the same setup, albeit with a larger primary sensor. The Note 17 Pro is expected to feature a 16MP selfie camera, while the Note 17 Pro Max could opt for a 32MP front shooter.

Xiaomi has confirmed IP68 and IP69 ratings for the series. IP68 protection usually covers resistance against dust and water immersion under defined conditions, while IP69 adds protection against high-pressure water jets. It is worth noting that the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max packs a 10,000mAh battery in China, dropping down to 8,340 mAh for the Note 17 Pro 5G.
