Redmi Turbo 5 Leak Suggests Bigger Battery, Dimensity 8500 Chip, and Metal Design
Redmi’s next mid-range powerhouse might already be taking shape. The Redmi Turbo 5, expected to launch in early 2026, has surfaced online through new leaks that outline some major upgrades over its predecessor, the Turbo 4.

A Smaller Display, But Bigger Battery
According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the Redmi Turbo 5 will feature a 6.5-inch LTPS flat display with 1.5K resolution. That’s a slight drop from the 6.67-inch panel on the Turbo 4, but it could make the phone a bit easier to handle.
What’s more interesting is the battery bump. The leak suggests a 7,500mAh cell paired with 100W wired fast charging support. For comparison, last year’s Turbo 4 packed a 6,550mAh battery with similar charging speeds, so this is a notable jump in capacity — something that might help the Turbo 5 stand out in its segment.
Premium Touches and Added Protection
Redmi’s upcoming mid-range device might also lean toward a more premium build. The Turbo 5 is tipped to feature a metal frame and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, both of which would be firsts for the lineup. It’s also expected to come with an IP68 rating, meaning it could offer protection against dust and short water exposure — a welcome addition for a mid-range device.
Dimensity 8500-Ultra Could Power It
The leak also mentions that the phone may ship with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, a step up from the Dimensity 8400-Ultra found in the Turbo 4. If that’s true, users can expect better performance and power efficiency, especially for gaming and multitasking.
The Turbo 5 is expected to debut in early 2026, and reports suggest that the same phone could launch globally under the Poco X8 Pro branding.
A Quick Look Back at the Turbo 4
The Redmi Turbo 4, launched earlier this year, featured a 6.67-inch 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and a MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra SoC. It came with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, along with a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary camera and a 20MP selfie shooter.
Given that background, the Turbo 5 looks like a refinement — slightly smaller, sturdier, and better equipped for endurance.
