Reliance Jio Extends JioPhone Offer Till November 30
Reliance Jio has extended the JioPhone Diwali offer for another month. The company is providing its feature phone at Rs. 699 as against Rs. 1500. Besides, users will get additional data benefits worth Rs. 700. This means Jio will add Rs. 99 worth of data on every recharge, on the seven recharges that the customer does.
Furthermore, the company is expecting that this extension will attract more people towards the JioPhone platform. Unlike any other feature phones, Jio Phone supports apps like Jio TV, Whatsapp, Facebook, Jio Cinema, Jio News, and Jio Music.
For the unware, JioPhone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 1GHz processor coupled with 512 MB RAM. It packs a 2,000mAh battery, alphanumeric keypad, a 4-way navigation key, and a microSD slot for storage expansion. In addition, there's a rear camera, flashlight, and FM radio. JioPhone supports 22 major Indian languages and voice commands. Also, the JioPhone comes with NFC support for tap-and-pay payments.
Meanwhile, the company has introduced new plans for its JioPhone users. The new 'All-In-One' monthly plans, provides 500 minutes of free calling to other networks and free calls on the same network. The company has also launched four plans.
That starts from Rs. 75 and goes up to Rs. 185. The basic plan of Rs. 75 is offering 3GB monthly data. The Rs. 125 plan is providing 14GB data. On the other hand, Rs. 155 plan ships 28GB data. Lastly, the Rs 185 plan comes with 56GB data for 28 days.
It is worth mentioning that a new report by Counterpoint points out that the JioPhone has lost its top spot from the feature phone market in July- September quarter. As per the findings, Samsung is leading the segment with 22 percent market share, followed by itel and Lava 16 percent each, Nokia 12 percent, and Karbonn 7 percent.
