Samsung Reveals One UI 7 Rollout Timeline Ahead of Galaxy S25 Launch: When Will Your Phone Get It?

With the Galaxy S25 Unpacked event just hours away, Samsung has officially announced the rollout timeline for its One UI 7 update, at least in South Korea, its domestic market.

The new software, built on Android 15, is set to bring several interface upgrades and AI-powered features to compatible Galaxy smartphones by the end of the first quarter of 2025.

Samsung Announces One UI 7 Rollout Timeline Ahead of Galaxy S25 Launch

One UI 7: What's New?

The One UI 7 update introduces a range of refinements to Samsung's interface. Some of the key changes include:

  • Now Bar: A pill-shaped interactive feature on the lock screen that allows users to control music, timers, and more. It's Samsung's take on real-time updates, somewhat akin to Apple's Dynamic Island.
  • Quick Settings Revamp: A redesigned panel that splits notifications and quick settings into different panes.
  • Vertical App Drawer: A new way to browse apps, adding a fresh take to Samsung's navigation system.
  • Updated Camera Interface: Improvements to the layout and functionality of the camera app for smoother usability.
  • New App Icons and Subtle Tweaks: A refreshed look throughout the interface, ensuring a cohesive and modern experience.

When Will You Get the Update?

Samsung has confirmed that all compatible Galaxy S series devices will receive the One UI 7 update by March 31, 2025. While the timeline currently applies to the South Korean market, Samsung's global rollout schedule is typically similar. Compatible devices include:

  • Galaxy S21 FE, S23 FE, and S24 FE

Interestingly, Samsung's announcement does not explicitly mention the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 foldables. However, given Samsung's track record, these devices are also expected to receive the update soon after.

Faster Beta Progress and User Feedback

Samsung's press release also highlighted the success of the One UI 7 beta program, which wrapped up twice as quickly as its predecessor, One UI 6. The company credited user feedback for helping refine features and address bugs more efficiently.

The beta program also focused on improving AI-driven tools, which are expected to enhance overall performance and usability. These features will likely be showcased during the Galaxy S25 Unpacked event.

Stay Tuned for Tomorrow

The Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event is scheduled for tomorrow, and you can catch all the action live on YouTube at 11:30 PM IST.
