Samsung Galaxy A05 Spotted: Affordable Android 13 Smartphone With Helio G85 SoC, 4GB RAM
The successor to the Samsung Galaxy A04 has surfaced online. The Galaxy A series includes budget-friendly Android smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A05 packs an octa-core MediaTek Helio chipset and runs Android 13 OS.
Samsung hasn't acknowledged the existence of the Samsung Galaxy A05 but the entry-level smartphone has surfaced on Geekbench, indicating its imminent arrival. Let's look at the key specifications, features, expected price, and availability of the upcoming affordable Android smartphone from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy A05 Surfaces On Geekbench: Confirmed To Pack Dual-Band Wi-Fi
The Samsung Galaxy A05 recently surfaced on the Wi-Fi Alliance certification. The listing revealed it will run Android 13 OS out of the box.
Additionally, despite being an entry-level smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy A05 will have dual-band Wi-Fi. It basically means the budget Android smartphone will be able to latch on to the Wi-Fi 2.4GHz as well as 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
Now, the Samsung Galaxy A05 has surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking website under the codename "SM-A055F". The listing reaffirms this smartphone will be an entry-level device, which will succeed the Galaxy A04, which launched last year in August.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Samsung Galaxy A05 packs an octa-core chipset with two Performance cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and the remaining six cores clocked at 1.80GHz.
The motherboard is codenamed "MT6769V/CZ". These details confirm the Samsung Galaxy A05 will be powered by the budget MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.
The Geekbench listing confirms the Samsung smartphone is packing 3.60GB or 4GB of RAM. Additionally, the device managed to score just 416 points in single-score tests and 1303 points in multi-score tests. These aspects reaffirm the fact that the Samsung Galaxy A05 is indeed an entry-level smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy A05 Expected Specifications, Features
The Geekbench listing mentions Android 13 as the OS powering the Samsung Galaxy A05. However, Samsung should slap its own One UI on top of the base OS.
Incidentally, the Samsung Galaxy A05 has also secured the Bluetooth SIG certification. However, there are multiple listings for the Samsung smartphone bearing model numbers SM-A055F, SM-A055M, and SM-A055M-DS.
This strongly suggests Samsung will launch three iterations of the Samsung Galaxy A05, presumably with 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM. Buyers could be able to get 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.
The Samsung Galaxy A04 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35. Simply put, the upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones have received a decent upgrade in terms of performance.
The Helio G85 is twice as fast not only in raw performance but the Mali-G52 MC2 is more than twice as fast as the PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy A04 had just 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. This restricted the devices to the Android Go Edition. The Samsung Galaxy A05, on the other hand, should run full-fledged Android 13 OS.
As for the availability of the Samsung Galaxy A05, the smartphone could launch in the next few days as the Galaxy A04 launched in August 2022. The Galaxy A04 currently sells for ₹11,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant. Samsung may price the Galaxy A05 well below the ₹15,000 mark.
