Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) starts receiving Android Nougat update in India

Of late, Samsung has been quite consistent with software updates with its mid-range smartphones. Now, the Galaxy A7 (2017) has started receiving the Android Nougat update as reported by SamMobile.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) was originally launched in India earlier this year with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. Other than the usual features of Android Nougat, the update also includes the Dual Messenger feature that will let users setup two accounts of a social networking site. The software firmware version for this update is A720FXXU2BQI2 for the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017).

Weighing in at 1376.35MB, this update is being pushed out via over-the-air (OTA). So don't get worried if your device has not received the update yet. However, if you are one of those impatient kinds, you can also check for the update manually by going to Settings >About Phone > Software Update.

Needless to say, make sure your device has sufficient amount of storage space and battery life, before proceeding with the installation of the update. Preferably, your Galaxy A7 (2017) should have at least 50 percent of charge and 2GB of free space. Lastly, it is recommended that your smartphone is connected to Wi-Fi as 1GB is definitely too much of data.

Android Nougat will bring along a slew of new features like split-screen multitasking, more customizable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window extended battery life, and more.

Besides this, the addition of the Quick Reply feature will let users reply from the notification bar itself without opening any app. Under the hood, Google also incorporated new and improved features that would result in a better device performance and battery life.
