Rumors continue to surface ahead of the launch of the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone scheduled for August 2nd. Now, a new video of the phone has come up, from Vietnam, to highlight the presence of USB Type-C port on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
The reversible connectivity port is in fashion, for its capability of transferring data faster, charging the phone quickly, and for its multi-functionality as it can serve as a single port for multiple connectivity options. The USB Type C is seen on most high end flagship models of Chinese smartphone companies.
Recap of rumored specs and features:
In the case of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, rumors and conjectures have already spilled beans to give us a fair idea of what will come on board the smartphone. Talking about the specifications, the Note 7 is expected to come with 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED curved dual edge display with 518PPI, and be powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 8 / Snapdragon 821 processor along with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM on board. It is expected to come with 64GB of inbuilt storage along with expandable memory option.
If the rumors end up being valid, the Galaxy Note 7 will flaunt a 12MP rear camera with LED Flash and 5MP front camera. The rumor also suggests that this device will have IP68 certification, which means it will be water and dust resistant.
A new VR Headset in the picture!
The presence of USB Type C was anyway heighted when a new version of the VR Gear headset appeared on India's import and export site Zauba. The VR headset is expected to the morning light with the Galaxy Note 7. Considering that the current Gear VR works with a micro USB port only, a possible reason behind bringing the new one could be to make it compatible the Type-C USB port on a new Samsung smartphone, which is likely to be none other than the Note 7.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be introduced during the company's upcoming Unpacked Event, which will happen in New York City on August 2nd.
