Samsung Galaxy Note FE gets sold out in South Korea; global release possible

Samsung relaunched the Galaxy Note 7 as the Galaxy Note Fan Edition (FE) in July 2017. While the release of the Galaxy Note is nearing, the refurbished device gets sold out in South Korea.

According to the fresh reports from Korea Herald, the Galaxy Note FE units are sold out completely in South Korea and the company is not in plans to replenish the stocks. The previous reports have revealed that Samsung released 400,000 units of the Galaxy Note FE in its home market in July. The device priced around $620 (approx. Rs. 40,000) was launched with a 3200mAh battery and the Bixby AI as well.

Besides featuring a smaller battery capacity than the 3500mAh battery in the original Galaxy Note 7, the refurbished model comes with similar specs. The device is checked for safety as it cleared the new 8-point battery safety test. Also, it is based on Android Nougat out of the box.

Samsung launched just limited units of the Galaxy FE so that the stocks will get empty before the release of the Galaxy Note 8. Given that the pre-booking of the Galaxy Note 8 has already debuted and the release will happen on September 15, it is unlikely for Samsung to sell the Note FE again in the Korean market.

Eventually, it looks like Samsung is in plans to bring the Galaxy Note FE to the overseas markets. Previously, we had come across reports that the company will be releasing the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in some of the emerging markets. Maybe, having the stocks empty in the South Korean market might lead to this move.
