Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Users Can Now Virtually Test One UI 7—Here’s How
Samsung is preparing to roll out One UI 7, its next major software update, across its lineup of eligible devices. While the Galaxy S25 series ships with One UI 7 out of the box, other models, including the Galaxy S24 FE, are still waiting for the update. However, a new workaround now allows S24 FE users to preview the upcoming software-not by installing it on their devices, but through Samsung's Remote Test Lab (RTL).
This method provides users with a way to interact with One UI 7 virtually, offering an early glimpse at the new interface, features, and improvements before the official release. Here's how it works and what users should expect.

One UI 7 on the Galaxy S24 FE
Samsung's Remote Test Lab (RTL) is typically a developer tool that enables app creators to test their applications on real Galaxy devices remotely. However, it appears that anyone with a Samsung account can now access the system and try out One UI 7 on the Galaxy S24 FE through this platform.
According to reports from Reddit's r/OneUI subreddit, the One UI 7 firmware for the Galaxy S24 FE is now available through RTL. Users who sign up can interact with the software update section in the system settings to explore the latest One UI 7 build virtually.
Software Details and What's Missing
The One UI 7 firmware for the Galaxy S24 FE available via RTL comes with the firmware version S721BXXU3BYA2 and includes the January 2025 security patch. The build is around 4.4GB in size, indicating that it's likely close to the final stable release.
However, since this is a remote test and not an actual installation on user devices, some features are missing or disabled. According to users who have tried it, features such as Audio Eraser and Now Brief are not present. The Now Bar setting appears in the menu but is currently greyed out, making it inaccessible. Additionally, the Battery Health feature is missing, which aligns with its region-dependent rollout on the Galaxy S25 series.
One UI 7 Release Timeline for Other Devices
Samsung has yet to release an official roadmap for the One UI 7 rollout, but the software is expected to reach all compatible S-series devices by the end of Q1 2025. The beta program for One UI 7 is currently available for Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra users in select regions, including India, Germany, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US.
Following the stable release for S-series models, Samsung is expected to expand One UI 7 to other Galaxy phones and tablets, although exact dates remain unclear. The inclusion of the Galaxy S24 FE in the Remote Test Lab suggests that its software update could be finalized soon, but users will still need to wait for an official rollout.
