Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Timeline Tipped Again – Is an India Launch on the Cards?
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is set to be one of its thinnest flagship smartphones, and its launch might be just around the corner.
After being teased at Galaxy Unpacked in January and making an appearance at MWC 2025, leaks suggest a global debut in April, with sales likely kicking off in May 2025.
April Launch Expected, Limited Initial Rollout
According to tipster Max Jambor, the Galaxy S25 Edge is likely to launch globally on April 16, 2025. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything, this aligns with the company’s usual release cycle. Tipster Abhishek Yadav has expressed hope that the global launch will include India, though there’s no official confirmation from Samsung yet.
Interestingly, we covered earlier that Samsung will only produce 40,000 units initially and may scale up based on demand. This limited production could mean Samsung is testing the waters before committing to larger volumes.
How Much Will It Cost?
The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be priced between the vanilla S25 and the S25 Ultra. The S25 starts at ₹80,999, while the Ultra model starts at ₹1,29,999, so the Edge could land somewhere in between.
What to Expect From the S25 Edge?
Ultra-Slim Build and Fresh Design
Samsung is going all-in on slimness, with leaks suggesting a 6.4mm thickness, making it slimmer than the 7.2mm Galaxy S25. It could also be lighter than the 162g S25, giving it a more compact feel. The design will feature flat edges and a reshaped rear camera island, setting it apart from other models in the lineup.
Cameras: No Telephoto This Time?
Leaks indicate a 200MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide shooter, but no telephoto lens. This could be a tradeoff to maintain its slim profile, unlike the S25 Ultra, which includes more advanced zoom capabilities.
Performance and Display
The S25 Edge is expected to pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and 12GB RAM, keeping performance in line with the rest of the series. It could feature a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and 2,600 nits peak brightness—a balance between the 6.2-inch S25 and the 6.9-inch Ultra.
Battery and Colors
A 3,900mAh battery with 25W charging is rumored, which looks disappointing to be honest. The phone could launch in black, silver, and light blue.
Final Thoughts
The Galaxy S25 Edge seems to be a premium option for those who want a flagship feel in a slim, lightweight form. With an April launch on the horizon, we’ll soon find out if Samsung’s gamble on a thinner phone pays off.
