Samsung Galaxy S25 Renders Surface, Show Minor Changes Ahead of 2025 Launch

Fresh renders of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 have been leaked, giving a glimpse of the design ahead of its expected January 2025 debut. The renders, leaked by @OnLeaks, reveal subtle yet meaningful changes to the Galaxy S25, particularly in terms of size, display, and camera aesthetics.

This follows earlier leaks of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, rounding out expectations for Samsung's next flagship lineup.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Design Tweaks and Size Adjustments

The Galaxy S25 is expected to feature a 6.17-inch display, though it will likely be marketed as 6.2 inches, similar to the Galaxy S24. The new device is slightly more compact, with dimensions of 146.9 x 70.4 x 7.2mm, compared to the S24's 147 x 70.6 x 7.6mm. The renders also show slimmer bezels and a continuation of the flat-sided design, a trend that other flagship smartphones like Google's Pixel 9 have adopted.

A notable design change is the addition of textured rings around the rear cameras, lending the phone a more refined look. Despite these small adjustments, the overall design remains consistent with previous Galaxy models, focusing on subtle evolution rather than a major redesign.

Chipset Rumors: Exynos or Snapdragon?

Conflicting reports continue to swirl around which chipset will power the Galaxy S25. Some rumors point to Samsung returning to its Exynos SoC for certain markets, while others suggest the phone could use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 globally. Early benchmarks indicate that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is shaping up to be highly competitive, potentially outperforming Apple's A18 Pro.

Other hardware expectations include a boost in RAM, with the base model of the Galaxy S25 likely to feature 12GB, up from the 8GB in its predecessor. Storage is expected to start at 128GB, and the device is said to retain its 4,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging.

Camera and Software: What's New?

Camera improvements appear to be modest this year. The Galaxy S25 is rumored to keep the same 50MP main camera and 12MP front-facing camera seen in the Galaxy S24. Samsung may focus more on software optimizations rather than hardware changes for this iteration.

On the software side, the Galaxy S25 will likely run Android 15 out of the box, paired with Samsung's latest One UI 7, bringing new features and enhancements aimed at improving user experience.

Expected Launch in January 2025

Following Samsung's pattern of earlier release dates, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to be unveiled in mid-January 2025. This continues the company's trend of accelerating its flagship launches, following the January 17 announcement of the Galaxy S24.
