Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra New Leak Suggests Major Design Overhaul: Could Be Costlier Than Galaxy S24 Ultra

As we edge closer to 2025, anticipation builds around Samsung's next big release, the Galaxy S25 series. The buzz has been growing, with information about the lineup's flagship models making rounds on the internet. Among these, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is garnering significant attention due to its rumoured features and a notable design shift.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra, along with the standard Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and a novel Galaxy S25 Slim variant, is part of Samsung's upcoming series. While the launch dates for these models are still under wraps, the Ultra variant has already made waves online thanks to leaked dummy units.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra New Leak Suggests Major Design Overhaul

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Design (Expected)

This new design direction was highlighted in a series of images posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the tipster @Jukanlosreve, showcasing the Galaxy S25 Ultra's dummy units in two colour options, including a black finish.

This peek into the future design trends of Samsung's flagship smartphones indicates a departure from the current aesthetic, potentially setting a new standard for the series' look and feel. These units reveal a considerable design transformation, moving away from the flat edges that have characterized previous models in favor of more rounded contours.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Specfications and Price (Expected)

Regarding specifications, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be a powerhouse. Rumors suggest it will boast a 6.86-inch AMOLED display, offering a more immersive viewing experience with thinner bezels than its predecessor.

The camera system is set to receive significant upgrades, including a groundbreaking 200MP primary sensor complemented by a new 50MP ultra-wide sensor, a 10MP 3x telephoto sensor, and a 50MP 5x telephoto sensor, promising unparalleled photography capabilities. The front-facing camera will maintain a 12MP resolution, ensuring high-quality selfies and video calls.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Ultra could be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, supporting up to 16GB of RAM for seamless performance. A robust 5,000mAh battery is expected with 45W fast charging.

However, these enhancements come with a cost. A recent analysis of the handset's bill of materials (BoM) suggests it could be approximately $110 (roughly Rs. 9,289) more expensive to produce than its predecessor. This increase hints at a potential price hike for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, making it more costly than the current Galaxy S24 Ultra in select markets.
