Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users to get stable Android Oreo update soon
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users should receive the stable Android Oreo update by the end of January.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users have been facing a lot of problems lately. From being unable to charge their phones once their battery reaches zero percent to random display wake up issues, the past week has been a hard one for the users.
However, things are about to change soon as we have good news for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus owners. First reported by The Android Soul, the company seems to be prepping to roll out the stable Android 8.0 Oreo update to a number of S8 and S8 Plus devices. Multiple variants of the Galaxy S8 duo with Android Oreo have been certified on the Wi-Fi Alliance.
The models that were spotted on the website are SM-G950F, SM-G955F, SM-G950FD, SM-G955FD, SM-G950N, SM-G955N, SM-G950X, SM-G955X, SM-G950XN, SM-G955XN, SM-G950XC.
In case you are confused, these are the European, Asian (India and Singapore), Korean, and Global versions of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. This means, users of the smartphones in these regions will finally receive the stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo operating system by the end of January.
Even previous reports had suggested that the official update would be rolled out in late January. Samsung has been running an Android Oreo Beta program for the Galaxy S8 duo for quite a while now. The eligible Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus recently received the fifth Oreo beta patch, which included the fixes for both major and minor bugs.
With the arrival of Android Oreo, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users will be able to experience some exciting features such as 'Parallel Apps' or split screen style feature, Picture-in-Picture mode, Auto-fill, smart text selection and more. The new update will also bring in a revamped quick settings design.
In addition, the latest iteration of Google's mobile operating system comes with some under the hood improvements. The overall device performance and user experience will improve as well.
We expect Samsung to release a statement regarding the Android Oreo rollout to its flagships soon. In any case, it should not be long before the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users get the taste of Oreo.
