Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ to feature dual rear cameras
Galaxy S9 to arrive with dual rear cameras.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 that is just a few days old is the first smartphone from the manufacturer to feature dual cameras at the rear. Having implemented such a camera setup on the flagship phablet, it looks like the company will follow the same with its next generation flagship smartphones as well.

As per a report by 9to5Google citing the claims of Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI Securities analyst, the Samsung Galaxy S9 slated to be launched in 2018 will feature dual rear cameras as the Galaxy Note 8. While this does not come as a big surprise, the information appears to be more reliable as comes from Kuo.
Back in July, an analyst from Hana Financial, Kim Rok-ho claimed that the Galaxy S9 will feature a dual rear camera setup. The information was backed by Park Hyug-Woo, an analyst at Shinhan Investment. Though Kuo is not the first one to come up with such a claim, he has a very consistent record when it comes to revealing features of the upcoming Samsung and Apple devices adding more credibility to this one.
Kuo claims that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as seen in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. In fact, the current generation flagships are being criticized for the placement of the fingerprint sensor as it becomes difficult to use it. The upcoming flagships might have the LED flash positioned between the dual camera sensors.
The analyst further claims that the Galaxy Note 9 will be the first smartphone from Samsung to feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor. Kuo has revealed that Samsung is in works with semiconductor firm Himax and Egis in order to integrate the in-screen fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy Note 9.
Recently, we came across reports that Qualcomm has assigned TSMC to build the 10nm Snapdragon 845 SoC instead of Samsung, unlike the Snapdragon 835 SoC. So, we can expect Samsung to use its own Exynos 9810 SoC more predominantly on the Galaxy S9 and S9+. However, the Galaxy S9 with Snapdragon 845 SoC was spotted on the Geekbench database with the model number SM-G9650 tipping that the Qualcomm SoC might be used at least on a small scale.
