Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ pricing leak once again
Galaxy S9 and S9+ could be the most expensive smartphones launched by Samsung till date.
We are just days away from the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagship smartphones. These devices seem to be a lot similar to the yesteryear models - the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ but there will be upgraded innards. Eventually, it is not surprising for the upcoming models to be more expensive than their predecessors when they hit the market.
Previous reports have tipped that the Galaxy S9 duo will be the costliest smartphones to be launched by Samsung till date. Now, the reputed tipster Roland Quandt has taken to Twitter to reveal the pricing of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in Norway.
Going by the information revealed by Quandt, the Galaxy S9 with 64GB storage might be priced at 8790 NOK (approx. Rs. 73,000). The 64GB variant of the Galaxy S9+ is said to be priced at 9790 NOK (approx. Rs. 81,000). These smartphones are said to be launched in the Coral Blue, Midnight Black and Lilac Purple color variants in Norway. And, it is claimed that the Titanium Grey color variant will not be released in the market.
Apart from revealing the pricing tipping that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be 1200 NOK and 1300 NOK more expensive than their predecessors, Quandt also revealed that the pricing of these smartphones will be higher in the Scandinavian markets than the European market. Notably, the European price tag is usually higher than the U.S. pricing.
This is not the first time that we are coming across the pricing details of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. Back in the last month, there were reports tipping that the Galaxy S9 might be priced between 950,000 won (approx. Rs. 57,000) and 990,000 won (approx. Rs. 60,000). Given that the Galaxy S8 was launched at $750 in the US (approx. Rs. 48,000), this pricing is 10% higher than its predecessor.
Going by the recent information, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be way too expensive than the US pricing. This makes us skeptical about the sales of the flagship models but these are not the official pricing and we will go to know the same only after the unveiling of these smartphones.
