Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 to Sport Two Cover Screens: Report

Tipster SuperRoader revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 would have an interesting-looking cover display. Going by the leaked images, the phone's dual rear cameras will be flanked by an LED flash and a small screen at the side. The tiny screen will display AR emojis, battery status, and system date, among other details.

Below the screen is a large squarish cover display that reportedly measures 3.4 inches with an aspect ratio of 1:1.038. The panel will display notifications, widgets, and quick settings. In addition, it will function as a camera viewfinder.
To compare, the Z Flip 5's predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, features a much smaller 1.9-inch cover display, which makes it hard to read messages owing to its tiny screen's size. Considering that the Z Flip 5 is getting a larger cover display, the outer screen could likely include support for native apps.

Moving on to the design, the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature rounded corners and flat edges. It is likely to get a new waterdrop hinge design, which could reduce the appearance of a crease on the inner display.
According to past rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 could be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor under the hood. The smartphone could sport a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display for the inner screen. The panel could feature a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
It is reported that Samsung may launch the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 later this year. We can expect the phones to debut at the Unpacked 2023 event, scheduled for August.
