Samsung One UI 8 Beta Based on Android 16 Coming Next Week to S24 Series, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6: What to Expect
Samsung is gradually opening up access to its One UI 8 beta, starting with a handful of high-end phones next week. The update, which brings deeper AI integration and smarter device interactions, is now making its way beyond the Galaxy S25 series.
If you’re using a recent Samsung phone or foldable, chances are you’ll get to try it out soon.

Which Devices Are Getting the Beta First?
The Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6 will be the first to receive the One UI 8 beta outside the S25 lineup. Samsung says the beta rollout starts next week in Korea, the U.S., the U.K., and India.
After that, the program will expand in September to include more devices like the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and several A-series models including the A36 5G, A55 5G, A35 5G, and A54. If you're interested in joining the beta, you’ll need to register through the Samsung Members app.
What's New in One UI 8?
One UI 8 builds on Samsung’s existing Galaxy AI framework, offering smarter, more context-aware suggestions and interactions. The focus here seems to be on multimodal capabilities, meaning the system can better understand what you’re doing in the moment—across voice, text, and device usage—and adjust accordingly.

There’s also tighter integration with Google’s Gemini AI, especially if you're using Galaxy Buds3 or Buds3 Pro. You’ll be able to trigger Gemini by voice or by long-pressing the earbuds, making it a little easier to pull up assistance without reaching for your phone.
Samsung says the new UI is optimized to work across different form factors, from bar phones to foldables, helping users stay productive and organized with minimal effort.
Watch Users Are Getting Updates Too
Alongside smartphones, One UI 8 Watch is also in the pipeline. It’s currently limited to the Galaxy Watch8 series, but Samsung plans to extend support to more Galaxy Watch models later this year. The update will bring improved health features and a more intuitive layout for smartwatch users.
When Will the Stable Update Arrive?
The final version of One UI 8 is expected to launch in September, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. From there, it’ll roll out to other eligible phones and tablets over the following weeks.
