Samsung’s Tri-Fold Phone Moniker Leaks Online, Revealing Launch Timeline and Display Design

Samsung recently teased the arrival of its first-ever Tri-Fold phone at the ''Unpacked 2025'' event, held in San Jose, California. In the meantime, leaks and rumours have revealed a few details about the upcoming phone including its launch timeline and production volume. Now, the latest information has revealed the moniker of Samsung's Tri-Fold phone.

Here's Samsung's Tri-Fold Phone Could Be Called

The latest info comes out from tipster yeux1122 who has shared on Naver that Samsung's Tri-Fold will be dubbed as the "Galaxy G Fold." The tipster further suggests the device would be launched in early January 26 (citing ROSS Young). However, a few other reports suggest it might arrive in the third quarter of this year.

Samsung's Tri-Fold: What to Expect?

Tipster yeux1122 claims the Galaxy G Fold will have a 9.96-inch display with a height of 6.54 inches. The phone is tipped to weigh same as the Huawei's Mate XT; however, it could be slightly thicker.

Moreover, the Galaxy G Fold is expected to feature a G-type folding mechanism, which folds the screen into three inward parts and is designed to protect the display, while Huawei's Mate XT has an S-shaped design. Even the South Korean tech giant is reportedly developing a new type of display and protective film for its tri-fold phone.

As noted, there's a chance the brand might announce the Galaxy G Fold in the third quarter of this year, while component production will begin in Q2 2025. Moreover, Samsung is reportedly aiming for just 200,000 units of its Tri-fold phone this year.
