Samsung W20 5G Foldable Smartphone With Up To Six Cameras Goes Official

Samsung W20, the second foldable display smartphone by the South Korean giant is officially announced following all the hype. The company has launched the device in China with similar features as the Galaxy Fold. In addition to the foldable display, the device offers up to six cameras and is powered by Qualcomm's flagship chipset.

The Samsung W20 primary display measures 7.3-inches and offers a resolution of 1536 x 2152 pixels. When folded, the outer display measures 4.6-inches and offers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1680 pixels.

The bezels are slightly thick when the display is folded. Notably, the primary display (unfolded) comes with an HDR10+ certification which is missing on the outer one.

For imaging, the device offers up to six cameras with triple sensors at the rear panel comprising of a 12MP primary wide-angle sensor (f/2.2) with Dual Pixel AF, and OIS. The primary sensor is paired with a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 12MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, PDAF, and an f/2.4 aperture.

At the top of the foldable display, there is a 10MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. For selfies, there is a 10MP display placed on the top of the secondary display with an f/2.2 aperture.

The Samsung W20 is powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor that supports 5G connectivity. It is launched with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage space. In the software department, it will ship with an Android Pie OS with One UI skin overlay.

The other features offered by the Samsung W20 include AKG-tuned speakers, Dolby Atmos and Samsung DeX support along with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In terms of connectivity, it comes with a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

As of now, Samsung has not announced any details on the pricing and availability of the device. But, it has announced a Care+ service which will include a discounted screen replacement within 1 year of purchase, ab 18 months of VIP hotline support, and a 50 percent discount on battery replacement.
