The Sharp Aquos S2 smartphone was launched in August 2017. However, it seems like the company will announce its successor Aquos S3 soon.

Sharp Aquos S3 with Snapdragon 630, Android Oreo to launch soon

We say so as the smartphone has already been certified by NCC, the Taiwanese certification body. The image submitted to the website shows that the Sharp Aquos S3 carries a model number of FS8032. The NCC documentation further reveals that the smartphone will come with a vertically arranged dual camera system and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Sharp Aquos S3 recently visited Geekbench as well. The Geekbench listing has revealed that the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor clubbed with 4GB RAM. On the software front, it was listed with Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. The handset managed to score 880 points in the single-core test, whereas it bagged 4237 points in the multi-core test.

The original Aquos S2 is equipped with a 5.5-inch display that offers an aspect ratio of 17:9. While there is no information on the Aquos S3's display, Sharp may use an 18:9 display on the smartphone. The Aquos S2 also features a Snapdragon 630 chipset teamed with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is another variant, which packs 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

We don't know, why Sharp has decided to keep the same processor and RAM configuration on the successor of Aquos 2. It is likely that there will be another variant of the Aquos 3 with a more powerful chipset and higher RAM.

As of now, we are not sure when exactly the Sharp Aquos S3 will be launched. Rumors have it, the Japanese manufacturer will unveil the smartphone some time later in January.
