Vivo’s iQOO Z8 Series Tipped to Launch in September: iQOO Z8x to Have Slower Charging Speed?
The upcoming iQOO Z8 series from Vivo is expected to launch in September, according to a new leak from a Chinese tipster. The new phones will succeed the iQOO Z7 series released six months ago. The tipster also revealed some of the specifications and colors of the iQOO Z8. Let's dive into the details.
iQOO Z8: Rumored Specs
The tipster has revealed that the iQOO Z8 will be released in early September with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It will be available in black, blue, and a third color similar to the Isle of Man color used by iQOO on its flagship phones, such as the iQOO 11. The tipster also mentioned that the new color will replace the orange color on the iQOO Z7 series.

Coming to the specs, the iQOO Z8 will likely have a 6.64" LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and up to 144Hz refresh rate. It will run on a Dimensity 8200 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery with 120W charging. The primary camera will be 64MP with OIS. The phone will also have a side fingerprint scanner and OriginOS 3.0-based Android 13 out of the box.
iQOO Z8x: Slower Charging Speed?
The iQOO Z8x is said to be a cheaper version of the Z8 with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and a larger 6,000mAh battery. However, a 3C listing for the iQOO Z8x showed that it only supports 44W charging, which is lower than the iQOO Z7x's 80W charging. This is surprising, as one would expect the newer model to have similar or faster charging speeds. It is possible that iQOO is prioritizing battery life over charging speed with the Z8x, or that there are other factors that we are not aware of.
Price & Availability
Lastly, the launch date and price of the iQOO Z8 series are still unknown, but we can expect Vivo to drop in some details in the next few weeks if the devices are poised to launch next month.
